Career Readiness Design Assessment Surveys

Below is the survey content included for programs with the Career Readiness program design. These are the questions asked of mentees at the beginning, middle, and end of the program. There are no mentor assessment surveys for career readiness programs. All questions are required unless otherwise noted. 

Mentees

Start of Program

For the following questions, please check one response that best describes you. Be honest - this information will be used to help your school and this mentoring program be as effective as possible. There are no right or wrong answers!

  1. To what extent have you begun thinking about, exploring, or planning your life after  graduation, whether that includes more school, a job, volunteer work, or anything else?
    • The scale for question 1 is a 5-point likert scale (1= Not at all to  5 = Very much)
  2. How confident are you in your ability to use your social network to identify job opportunities?
  3. How confident are you in your ability to develop realistic strategies for locating and securing employment? 
  4. How confident are you in your ability to meet new people in careers of interest?
  5. How confident are you in your ability to solicit help from an established career person to help chart a course in a given field? 
    • The scale for questions 2-5 is a 6-point likert scale (0 = Very little to 5 = Very much)
  6. People important to me have let me know that I am resourceful when it comes to gathering information needed to make career-related decisions.
  7. I have observed people I admire who are resourceful at gathering the information they need to make career-related decisions.
  8. I have role models who have explained to me how they chose an academic major or career path.
    • The scale for questions 6-8 is a 5-point likert scale (1=Not very like me to 5=Very like me)
  9. Have you used or engaged with individual and/or group career counseling/workshops, either through your college/university or through some other source (e.g. another college, your job, a community organization?
  10. Have you used or engaged with job search support, either through your college/university or through some other source (e.g., another college, your job, a community organization)?
  11. Have you used or engaged with resume assistance, either through your college/university or through some other source (e.g., another college, your job, a community organization)?
  12. Have you attended a career fair, either through your college/university or through some other source (e.g., another college, your job, a community organization)?

Middle of Program
