Choosing Your Program Name

Your program name is important; it gives potential mentors and mentees information about the program in which they have been invited to participate and what they may gain out of their experience. This name will appear on the Partner Dashboard, Participant Dashboard, and in participant and partner messaging. 

So, How Do You Pick a Program Name?

If your mentorship program existed prior to partnering with Mentor Collective, you are encouraged to use the same name with which you and your institution are already familiar. 

If your mentorship program is brand new, it's recommended that you consider the following questions:

• Does your institution have naming conventions it uses for similar programs? 
• What is the program’s mentee and mentor population? 
• What is the primary goal or outcome of the mentorship program? 
• What would you like to call the program internally vs. externally?

Generally, if you have no specific institutional guidance to follow, we recommend the naming convention: [Institution Name/Abbreviation] + [Program Title].

  • Havenhurst Tech Career Network

If your institution has more than one mentorship program, or if you plan to launch an additional program in the future, be sure to add a distinguisher to the program name. This will clarify in which program(s) individuals are eligible to participate.

Choosing Your Logo(s)

Program Logo

The program logo will be seen in the Partner Dashboard, Participant Dashboard, registration page, sign-in page, and throughout all messaging. The program logo can simply be the institutional logo, or a logo created specifically for your specific mentorship program.

Default Profile Image

Upon signing up for the program, participants are able to upload a profile image. If participants have not registered or do not upload a photo, a default profile image will appear in both the Partner Dashboard and Participant Dashboard instead. 

Technical Guidance

• Format: .jpeg or .png only
• Size: at least 200 pixels
• Shape: square for profile image; rectangle or square or program logo
