Program Designer is an intelligent, conversational agent designed to simplify and accelerate how you build and launch your mentorship programs. With Program Designer, you have a flexible, on-demand experience that allows you to make key decisions on your own schedule without sacrificing expert guidance. And rest assured, your dedicated CSM will still have eyes on your design and will review all input before moving forward.
The Preparation Phase
- Gather information. It will be helpful to have the following handy:
- Program administrator(s) contact information
- Program branding (name, logo, etc.)
- Important dates and timeline for your mentorship program
- Mentor and mentee populations and their estimated size
- The primary participation and outcome goals of your program
- Identify a team lead. While we encourage input from all stakeholders, we recommend designating one representative to lead the Program Designer session to ensure consistency in decision-making. This is often the Program Manager.
- Inform CSM. Let your CSM know who your team lead will be to ensure the correct person has access.
- Receive access. For our team leads, you will receive an email containing the steps to begin the process.
The Design Phase
- Login. Sign in to your Mentor Collective Dashboard.
- Navigate to Program Designer. Select the dropdown menu at your name in the top right corner: Admin Center → Program Designer
- Identify program. If more than one program is visible, review the list of programs with which you’re associated and identify where you’d like to begin.
Navigate to agent. Click “Go to Agent”; Program Designer will guide you through the entire decision-making process.
- Design program. Talk with the agent while it guides you through the entire decision-making process.
Tips for Success
- Take advantage of the real-time best practices and education provided.
- Note any past design decisions to see what worked or needs adjusting.
- Feel free to leave and come back–your progress saves automatically.
- Monitor your decisions in real-time in the sidebar.
- Keep track of your progress with the progress bar at the top.
- Be honest. If you don’t have any answer for something or get confused, tell the agent. It will be flagged for followup with your CSM.
The Review Phase
- View design decisions. Click on “Design History” to see a summary of your program design.
- Make edits: As needed, you can make in-line edits if you notice any mistakes or if you have changed your decision.
- Submit for review. Click on “Submit Design Decisions”, and your CSM will automatically be notified.
The Setup Phase
- CSM review: Your CSM will personally review your design.
- Follow-up: As needed, you and your CSM will discuss any necessary adjustments or further customization
- Program setup: Mentor Collective will finalize your program design and set up your program.
- Access Dashboard. You will receive an email once the Dashboard for your new program is ready.
