Conversations - What Are Participants Talking About?

What are Conversations?

A “conversation” is the term used in Mentor Collective's platform to describe mentees and mentors having a specific connection to discuss a variety of topics related to their goals.

How To: Logging Conversations

Mentors and mentees can log conversation in three ways:

1. Dashboard Report

Mentees and mentors can login to their Participant Dashboard and log conversations through a Dashboard Report. They will answer questions related to the specific conversation, such conversation date, what they discussed and how it relates to their goals, identified next steps, general sentiment, and whether they'd like their notes shared with their counterpart.

2. Conversation Check Ins

If a mentee or mentor hasn't completed a Dashboard Report in a while, Mentor Collective's automated messaging will check in with them via email and/or SMS to ask if they’ve had any additional conversations with their counterpart. If they have, they can simply send us a number representing how many conversations they’ve had, and that will be added to their conversation count.

However, conversation reported through check-ins will not include insight into topics they discussed.

3. Peer to Peer SMS Relay Backfill

If a mentee or mentor hasn't completed a Dashboard Report in a while, and they’re not responding to conversation check in messages, Mentor Collective's system will look to see if they’ve been using the peer to peer SMS relay with their counterpart since they last logged a conversation. If there have been at least 2 text messages sent for each person in the mentorship since the last self-reported conversation was logged, 1 conversation will be added to their total conversation count.

However, conversation reported through the SMS relay backfill will not include insight into topics they discussed.
