February 2025 Monthly Digest

As we continue highlighting the participant experience in our spring newsletters, this month’s edition dives into ways participants engage with each other. We’ll spotlight features like conversation guides and flags, and share resources to engage participants during recruitment.

Diving Deeper into the Participant Experience

Structured Conversations

  • Participants have access to a library of 40+ discussion guides, designed to help them navigate conversations. Each guide focuses on a specific topic, providing prompts, tips, and activities to support goal-oriented discussions.

  • For example, if a mentee wants to improve their interview skills, their mentor can use the "Effective Interviews" guide to structure their conversation and offer targeted advice.

  • See how these guides show up for participants, learn how to filter resources on your Partner Dashboard, or check out the standard resources offered by program design.

Custom Resources

  • Need something specific? Adding custom resources allows programs to address unique challenges, align mentorship with institutional goals, and provide targeted support.

  • For example, create guides specific to a school’s career center offerings, provide targeted support unique to your student population, or point to a directory of campus resources.

  • Learn more about adding custom resources, consider what type of custom content makes the most sense for your program, or connect with your Partner Success Manager to collaborate in building tailored resources together.

Targeted Support

On the Flags page of their Participant Dashboards, mentors can see all the flags they have submitted for their mentees, including the status of each flag. This transparency helps mentors stay informed and engaged in the development of their mentees, leading to more empowered, effective, and responsive mentorship.

Engage Future Participants

  • Recruit through orientation: Orientation is a great opportunity to connect with students and celebrate mentorship. Check out the recording of our latest event to hear how your peers have done this successfully.

  • Use ready-made resources: Mentor Collective's Recruitment Materials Library features templates and examples of what other institutions are doing to engage participants.
